Competition Rules & Regulation:-

2.1 Preliminaries:-
1 1-minutes preliminary freestyle to qualify to the final.
2 The top qualifying players will be advanced to 3-minutes Freestyle Final
3 Players may enter maximum of 2 divisions.
4 Players must prepare appropriate music.
5 Judging criteria for the preliminary will be judged by technical execution only.
6 There will be no performance score in preliminary.

2.2 Main Freestyle Rules
1 Each contestant shall have 3 minutes to perform a freestyle routine.
2 The 3-minute period starts when the music starts.
3 No points shall be scored for either technical execution or performance style for any reason before the music starts, or after 3 minutes have elapsed.
4 Music must be provided to the sound-technician before the start of the event.
5 All music must be G-rated (appropriate for all audiences). The music shall not contain offensive lyrics but not limited to: - obscenities, ethnic or sexual slurs, violence advocacy, etc. With the concurrence of the Contest Director and the Head Judge, use of inappropriate music by contestant shall result in their disqualification.
6 All action of a performer must be G-rated and take into account the safety of the audience, facilities and the contestant himself. With the concurrence of the contest director and the head judge, dangerous or inappropriate behavior by a contestant shall result in their disqualification.
7 No assistants are allowed on stage while a contestant is performing.
8 All extra yo-yos that are to be used by contestant shall be ready to use and must be brought on stage.
9 Yo-Yos that leave the stage shall not be returned to the stage and no others shall be accepted by the contestant from the audience or an assistant. If a contestant uses a yo-yo in violation of this rule, the judge will not award any points for Technical Execution or Performance Style while that yo-yo is in play, but shall deduct points for any mistakes, loss of control restarts, yo-yo replacement, etc.
10 No props are allowed.
11 Yo-Yos with Hub Stacks (Hub Bearing) and similar spinning pog devices are allowed.
12 All 5 divisions are mixed and only 3 winners (top scorer) will be selected.

2.3 1A Freestyle Rules: -
1 At no time shall there be more than one yo-yo in play (including slaves or prop yo-yos) at the same time. During any period of time that this rule is violated, the judges shall not grant any points for Technical Execution or Performance Style but shall deduct points for any mistakes, loss of control restarts, yo-yo replacement, etc.
2 At no time shall the yo-yo be removed from the string (i.e.) no off string tricks are allowed. During any period of time that this rule is violated, the judges shall not grant any points for Technical Execution or Performance Style but shall deduct points for any mistakes, loss of control restarts, yo-yo replacement, etc.
3 At no time shall a yo-yo with a counterweight be used. During any period of time that this rule is violated, the judges shall not grant any points for Technical Execution or Performance Style but shall deduct points for any mistakes, loss of control restarts, yo-yo replacement, etc.
4 Mobius Style is allowed.
5 Skyrocket type tricks are allowed.
6 Typical scoring element include but not limited to: - mounts dismounts, string hits, hops, grinds, laceration, release catches (like suicide / iron whips), slack catches, re-generation and binds.

2.4 2A Freestlye Rules: -
1 The judge shall not grant any points for Technical Execution or Performance Style unless both yo-yos are in play simultaneously.
2 At no time shall there be more than two yo-yos in play (including slave or prop yo-yos) at the same time. During any periods of time that this rule is violated, the judges shall not grant any points for Technical Execution or Performance Style but shall deduct points for any mistakes, loss of control restarts, yo-yo replacements, etc.
3 Typical scoring elements include but are not limited to: loops, punches, wraps, tanglers, moons, hops, stalls, worlds, transitions, regenerations and various combinations and/or variation of these elements.
4 3A styled tricks will be allowed for this division.

2.5 4A Freestyle Rules: -
1 Any number of "Off-String" yo-yos may be play at the same time.
2 Typical scoring elements include but not limited to: 1A string tricks
3 Typical scoring elements include but not limited to : launches, tosses, catches, regeneration, grinds, intentional bounces off body parts or the stage back to catch, boingys, or other types of bounces between strings.
4 Trick elements "performed with a pinched string" or those that are at "less risk" may be scored at lower value than elements where the yo-yo is launched off the string.
5 Similarly, trick elements where the yo-yo is rolling along the string may be scored at a lower value than elements where the yo-yo is launched off the string.

2.6 5A Freestyle Rules: -
1 The judges shall not grant any points for Technical Execution or Performance Style unless the counter-weight (or multiple counter-weights) is in play, or in act of being moved from hand to hand. Any trick done while the counter-weight is being held for the entire duration of the trick shall be considered 1A trick, and shall not be scored.
2 Any number of "counter-weight" yo-yos may be in play at the same time.
3 Typical scoring elements include but are not limited to: 1A string tricks with counter-weight in play, aerial, releases and catches, grinds, etc.
